MEET SAKILE
Sakile B. is a Bronx-based nail artist with roots in Barbados. She has been a licensed nail technician since 2017 and currently creates hand-painted press on nails and sustainable nail care products. Her work is inspired by her love for Black culture and Black spirituality. With this brand, Sakile hopes to highlight the importance of radical self-care and communal care as an act of love for people of color.

BlaqueX Nail Art is solely founded and run by Sakile. She specializes in both natural nail care and nail art. She is a licensed nail technician and graduate from the Christine Valmy School for Esthetics, Skin Care and Makeup based in New York City.

BlaqueX is pronounced blăck - ĕx and is short for "Black Excellence".
​
Founded in 2016, one of BlaqueX's intentions is to ignite joy and compassion for individual and collective liberation. BlaqueX prioritizes materials that maintain the integrity of the natural nail and uses products that are vegan, toxin-free and cruelty-free.

In addition to nail products and services, BlaqueX supports people and projects that promote mental health, positivity, self-care, relaxation, black joy and black excellence.
